Nestled among the marinas, amid the chimes of sailboat riggings clanging against their masts, lays a red barn emitting a soft plume of burning oak. As one enters the brown wooden door, the aroma is of world-class Texas barbeque, scrumptious chicken fried steak and spicy blackened catfish. The name of this unique eatery is T-Bone Tom's, one of Bay Area Houston's many known treasures.

Although locals have enjoyed this home-style establishment for the past 45 years, the meat market-turned-restaurant got national attention when it was featured on the Food Network's acclaimed cable television show, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives in November 2009. "We are thrilled to be recognized on the episode," stated Barry Terrell, owner of T-Bone Tom's. "We've been serving tasty comfort food to our loyal patrons since 1974, and we look forward to sharing our choice steaks and seafood with visitors to our community."

T-Bone Tom's first started smoking meats in the late 60s when we were a local country meat market. We have always made everything from scratch, from the dry seasoning to the BBQ sauce. Potato salad and cole slaw are made fresh daily. The tradition of making our own smoked sausage continues today.
